Committees

    • Executive Committee
      Committee Membership: Officers of SCI OKC, including President, Immediate Past President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chair of each Sister City.
      Committee Chair: SCI OKC President
      Meetings: Monthly
      Responsibilities:
      – Oversee SCI OKC activities
      – Guide the management of SCI OKC business
      – Keep financial records for the organization
      – Keep official records/minutes for the organization
      – Recommend policies and new programs to the Board
      – Develop plans for fundraising opportunities

    • Board of Directors
      Committee Membership: Members elected by SCI OKC or appointed by Mayor.
      Committee Chair: SCI OKC President
      Meetings: Quarterly
      Responsibilities:
      – Set policies and determine new programs
      – Serve on at least one committee in addition to the Board
      – Support fundraising activities
      – Support partnership activities

    • Membership Committee
      Committee Membership: Interested members
      Committee Chair: Vice-President of Membership
      Meetings: As called by Chair
      Responsibilities:
      – Develop dues structure for members, keep current
      – Develop plans to establish and expand membership base
      – Establish subcommittee to plan Annual Meeting and Membership Drive

    • Communications Committee
      Committee Membership: Interested members
      Committee Chair: Vice-President of Communications
      Meetings: As called by Chair
      Responsibilities:
      – Develop overall public relations plan to promote SCI OKC
      – Assist membership Committee in developing marketing material for promoting membership
      – Assist Sister City Chairs in promoting their relationships and special programs/events
      – Produce quarterly newsletter for members
      – Develop and maintain SCI OKC website

    • Programs Committee
      Committee Membership: Interested members
      Committee Chair: Vice-President of Programs
      Meetings: As called by Chair
      Responsibilities:
      – Investigate SCI programs in other cities and recommend new programs SCI OKC
      – Attend SCI Conference to research programs and projects
      – Target specific programs for individual city relationships and facilitate through partnerships
      – Establish long-range planning committee to determine goals for the organization and identify financial needs

      Meetings: monthly and prior to SCI OKC Meeting
      Responsibilities:
      – Establish regular communications with your Sister City
      – Keep detailed records of activities
      – Develop one major exchange program targeting education, culture or economic development
      – Promote Sister City relationship and specific programs throughout the community
      – Attract members to become involved in each specific Sister City Committee


  • Nominating Committee
    Committee Membership: Three members appointed by the President SCI OKC
    Committee Chair: Appointed by President
    Meetings: as called by Chair
    Responsibilities:
    – Prepare slate of Officers and Board Members for consideration of the membership at the Annual Meeting
